Snowflake Layered Mints

Yes!  You can use Young Living’s Vitality line of essential oils in your food!  Isn’t that exciting?  One of my favorite ways to use Young Living’s Peppermint and Spearmint Vitality Oils is in chocolate.  Watch how I make these simple (but spectacular) snowflake layered mints.

There isn’t a recipe for these mints because the transfer sheets come in a variety of sizes, so one recipe isn’t going to work for all those options.  However, it is very simple.  Melt some chocolate, I used Wilbur’s white and dark chocolate coating in this video, and add the essential oils two drops at a time.  Simply add the oils, taste the chocolate (it’s a hardship I’m willing to endure) and then add more oils as you wish.  You can’t take flavor back out of chocolate, but you can certainly take it slowly and test until you’re happy with the flavor.  I found that the combination of peppermint and spearmint make a very fresh, complex, and wonderful thin snowflake mint.

**Caution** Avoid applying to skin that will be exposed to prolonged sunlight or UV light within 24 hours. Use a nontoxic sunscreen as citrus oils make the skin more photosensitive. **

– Lemon oil will eat up petrochemicals in our body. If you ever drank from a plastic water bottle, you’ve been exposed. Use in glass, stainless steel, and ceramic only because it will eat through the petrochemicals in plastic or styrofoam.
